I’m Patrick. I have a bachelor’s in philosophy, which is a strange credential to bring to a homelab, and it’s been more useful than the CV suggests.

The habit is what stuck: find the actual claim, then find what it’s resting on. That works the same on a vendor’s uptime figure as it did on anything I read for my thesis.

What I write about: Proxmox, and the music, film, and file storage I’d rather run myself. Small electronics — Arduino, Raspberry Pi, LoRa, and enough soldering to have opinions about flux. Privacy, which for me means threat surfaces and security assessments as much as digital rights and anti-surveillance. Development workflows, and how much of mine now runs on AI tooling. And consulting and leadership: how teams make decisions, and what makes the good ones repeatable.
