About
Who writes this, and why it looks the way it does.
I’m Patrick Devins. I build software, advise teams on how they build it, and keep more infrastructure running at home than I can strictly justify.
This blog is where I work things out in public: the homelab, small electronics, privacy and anti-surveillance, development workflows, the leadership side of engineering, and the critical-thinking habit underneath all of it. Posts come in a few shapes: long posts, short essays, build logs, brief technical notes, and one-idea notes. Each one is filed under exactly one topic.
About the site
Static files generated by Jekyll and served by GitHub Pages. There are no webfonts, no analytics, no cookies, and no third-party requests of any kind — which felt like the minimum bar for a blog that spends this much time complaining about surveillance. Type is set in whatever serif your operating system already has.
